for bass recording ive always used my SansAmp GT2,
that is actually for recording and playing guitures, but it sound wonderfull, warm close and big, allowing control for bass, treble, warmth, mic placement and cabinet simulation.

bottom line: great.
ah, and dont b afrraid 2 play with EQ when recording bass, almost always you'll have to manipulate it abit somhow, to get the Mids, bottom and Punch you want.

The demeter bass DI and the aguilar tube DI are suppose to be the best DIs for bass, if you wanna know what it sounds like listen to the new incubus CD, i've read an article on bass player that said that he used a demeter DI signal mixed with a miced EDEN 4x10. i defenatly say that the cd has one of the best bass tone on earth.
You wont find this stuff in israel, and if you are going to brin one from the states, dont forget to send me a note :smile:

btw: if you choose to belive bassplayer magazine tests then the aguilar won over demeter.

Also Sansamp bassDI wasnt that far away.
